Kale Chips!

As many of you have noticed, this year we have started growing KALE!

This leavy green vegetable is high Vitmain A, C and K, is a great source of fibre, and also contains PROTEIN!

KALE can be enjoyed in salads or sauteed with lemon juice and garlic, and our new favourite way to prepare kale is by making KALE CHIPS! They are a very healthy snack, and extremely addicting.

Start by washing the kale and patting it dry with a towel. Tear the leaves into 'chip-sized' pieces, while removing the thick stalk. Using 1 tbsp at a time, pour your favourite cooking oil into your palm and rub your hands together. Now rub down all of the kale pieces. Continue massaging them, and add oil to your hands, until they all have a light coating of oil. {you could also substitue tahini or soya sauce for the oil to moisten the leaves}

Preheat oven to 350F... Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper. Evenly spread the kale pieces onto the parchment, so they are not overlapping (you may need another baking sheet). Sprinkle with your favourite seasoning {our favourites are lemon pepper, dill and garlic, and sea salt} You can get creative and add anything you like!

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, watching carefully for burning. Remove chips that are thoroughly dry, or turning brown; spread the rest of the chips out on the pan and put back in the oven for 5 minutes.

For fresh keeping, leave in an uncovered bowl so they cannot rehydrate and go soft.
